The discovery agent cannot write to the model freely. Every change is a typed tool call that passes through a gate: invalid calls are blocked, consequential or ambiguous calls require confirmation, and only low-risk, unambiguous calls auto-execute. No tool silently promotes a claim into a verified fact.
